Now showing at the Museum - "The Warren Street Project" - more than 300 photographs by Lynn Davis showing every building on Hudson's mile-long Warren Street. The project took about one year to shoot, beginning in 1994. The result is a picture of Hudson's architectural environment. Ms Davis decided not to keep up with the changes to these structures, but rather to keep this photo-montage intact as a "snapshot in time." On loan from Historic Hudson, Inc. until May 1998.

The following poem was submitted by one of our readers.
THE WORLD IS STILL BREATHING
If we follow recent pronouncements of the
film industry, it seems that we should be
"Waiting To Exhale". We also have been
informed that it is not politically
correct to "inhale." Breathing is
becoming an impossible affair.
Fortunately, in spite of those
exhortations, our world here is
still breathing. But are we doing it
correctly? The following suggestions may
help:
Inhale the air of our surrounding trees
and flowers. Exhale your worries and
concerns.
Inhale the calm and quiet of our
surroundings. Exhale the stress and
tension of the day.
Inhale the joy of your friends and
family. Exhale the sadness of some
moments.
Inhale pleasure. Exhale regrets.
Inhale the force of life. Exhale the
clouds of doubt and resentment.
Inhale the present. Exhale the past.
Inhale the smiles. Exhale the tears.
Above all, inhale now, inhale deeply.
We learn only when it is too late that
the marvel is the passing moment.

Here are some words of wisdom that I read in an advertising circular.
It's Hard to Understand Because it is so Easy!
Why do some people seem to have it all, some have alot, and some have not much at all? It's hard to believe, but it's really very simple. It's not at all as complicated or "New Age" as you might expect. The next time that Bill Nye "The Science Guy" explains the theory of magnetism, watch it (on public television). It is the whole secret in a nutshell!
You see, all of the stuff that makes up who you are is made up of atoms. Atoms are electrically charged, positive and negative. But they are usually spread around randomly, even in metal. When a piece of metal is magnetized, all of the electric charges are aligned in the same dierction. This is POWER! For, as you know, magnetized things attract other things. Without changing a bit of their structure, even tiny atoms can dramatically increase their power when they are all pulling in the same direction.
The same principle can be applied to people. All you gotta do is get "magnetized." If you get filled up with positives, there will be no room for negatives. That's where the power to accomplish things comes from in those people who feel everything is positive.
You can witness those folks who have this positive magnetism all around you. They are the folks who have a little extra smile, a nice greeting, and an easy manner. Their lives are not much different, but they sure seem to handle it a little bit easier. They do not listen to the doomsayers and pessimists among us. They have their electrons lined up in one direction and they work to keep them that way. Sure it takes extra effort for you to keep magnetized, just like a piece of metal. With too much use it will lose its magnetism if not kept up.
How do people keep their positive charge? The best ones can probably train themselves to think only the good thoughts about themselves and others. It's also possible for a person to become "magnetized" by associating with others who already are, because the effect can rub off on them. Their cup is half full most of the time. They don't have to worry about what's not there. They know what they are after and they go for it. And because they are polarized, the good stuff just clings to them and energizes them.
Simple, isn't it?
