CCMS Main Page

The Columbia County Medical Society (CCMS) is proud to be the originator and sponsor of the Columbia County Health Care Challenge. This program was initiated as an opportunity for students and residents of Columbia County to broaden their awareness and interest in health care and its promotion. Each year over $10,000 worth of awards have been distributed to the students and school systems of Columbia County.
The Columbia County Health Care Challenge (HCC) is open to all students currently enrolled in schools within Columbia County and to students who are residents of the county but attend schools elsewhere. Students are required to research a health related topic and present the topic to a panel of physicians. They utilize exhibits and demonstrate comprehension of their chosen topic as well as be conversant with it.
Sponsors are invited to participate as exhibitors in an area adjacent to the student exhibit area. To complement the students' activities, sponsors are encouraged to display consumer related teaching materials for the parents, family members and visitors who will be in attendance. The sponsors' exhibits shall be confined to providing health care teaching information.
The Columbia County Medical Society actively seeks funding and gift donations from local business and healthcare related corporations. Monies contributed will be used to fund prizes and awards, as well as to improve the organization of this popular and successful event.
