Invitation to Sponsors - October 10, 1998
The Columbia County Medical Society is planning its second annual Columbia County Health Care Challenge to be held on Saturday, March 20th, 1999. This program was initiated as an opportunity for students and residents of Columbia County to broaden their awareness and interest in health care and its promotion. Last year's program was a success we intend to build on, and over $10,000 worth of awards were distributed to the students and school systems of Columbia County.
The Columbia County Health Care Challenge (CCHCC) will be open to all students currently enrolled in schools within Columbia County and to students who are residents of the county but attend schools elsewhere. Students will be required to research a health related topic and present the topic to a panel of physicians. They should utilize exhibits and demonstrate comprehension of their chosen topic as well as be conversant with it.
Columbia-Greene Community College was again chosen as the site for the Columbia County Health Care Challenge in 1999. Along with the student activities, we ask our sponsors to display consumer related teaching materials for parents, family members and all in attendance. We appeal to our sponsors to participate as exhibitors, where applicable, in an area adjacent to the student exhibit area. We request sponsor exhibits be confined to providing health care teaching information.
We are currently seeking funding and gift donations from local business and healthcare related corporations. Monies contributed will be used to fund prizes and award, as well as utilized on other incidentals required to conduct a successful event.
We request notification of donation to be received by December 1, 1998. Grants and donations should be received by December 30, 1998 made payable to Columbia County Health Care Challenge. Please mail to Stephen Krizar, MD, 1301 River Street, Suite 204, Valatie, NY 12184, Attn: CCHCC. Funds will be held in a special account to be used toward the success of the student event. The Columbia County Health Care Challenge taxpayer ID number is 16-1529422.
